Every inspection is performed by IDOT Certified Safety Technicians (CSTs).

Illinois DOT 6-Month Inspection

Required for intrastate commercial vehicles. Illinois state-mandated semi-annual safety lane inspection covering brakes, tires, lights, and all safety systems.

Illinois DOT 12-Month Inspection

Required annually for certain classes of intrastate commercial vehicles. Full compliance inspection with IDOT sticker and certificate issued upon passing.

School Bus

School Bus Inspection (Type I & II)

Certified school bus inspections for Type I (over 10,000 lbs GVWR) and Type II (under 10,000 lbs) student transport vehicles. Required for all Illinois school bus operators.

Drive In

No appointment needed. We operate first-come, first-served. Arrive anytime during business hours — Mon–Fri 7am–3pm, Sat 7am–12pm. We recommend arriving early to avoid wait times.

Inspection

Our IDOT Certified Safety Technicians perform a thorough inspection. Most vehicles are done in 15–30 minutes. Bring your vehicle registration and any prior inspection paperwork.

Pass or Fail — You're Covered

Pass: You receive your certificate and official windshield sticker — ready to roll. Fail: You get a detailed report of every issue. Fix them and return within 30 days for a free re-inspection.

Payment is due before the inspection begins, pass or fail. A $3.00 surcharge applies to credit card payments.

No appointment required. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Just drive in during business hours. We recommend arriving early, especially on Saturdays, to avoid waiting.

How long does an inspection take?

Most inspections take 15 to 30 minutes depending on the vehicle type and its condition. Larger multi-axle vehicles may take slightly longer.

What happens if my vehicle fails?

You'll receive a detailed report of everything that needs to be repaired. Once you've made the repairs, you can return within 30 days for a free re-inspection. If you wait longer than 30 days, a new full inspection fee applies.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, business checks, and credit cards. A $3.00 surcharge applies to credit card payments. Fleet account holders can qualify for net 30 billing terms — apply here.

What does a vehicle need to pass inspection?

Vehicles must meet Illinois DOT safety standards covering brakes, tires, lighting, steering, coupling devices, and all safety equipment. If anything fails, you'll receive a detailed written report and can return within 30 days for a free re-inspection after repairs are made.
